12 Day Nairobi to Kigali Adventure Tour

Explore one of Africa’s most famous national parks as you travel through the Great Rift Valley. See if you can spot the “big five” on a wildlife safari drive in the late afternoon. Visit Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve from Nairobi, via the Great Rift Valley. As soon as we arrive in the area, we will settle into our safari camp, which will serve as our base for the remainder of our trip. Take a wildlife safari drive late in the afternoon with excellent chances of spotting the “big five” – the lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino. Safaris provide a memorable experience due to the diverse wildlife and natural environment.

Experience an early morning wildlife safari drive when animals are at their most active. Consider visiting a Maasai village, learning to dance like a warrior, and touring the manyatta (family compound). Take advantage of the opportunity to experience a balloon safari and gain a new perspective over the beautiful landscape. Breathe in the fresh morning air as you depart the Mara and drive back toward Nairobi. En route, the group will stop in the rural settlement of Maai Mahiu for a special lunch at Amani ya Juu. This social enterprise supports women from diverse backgrounds, helping them achieve economic independence through fair trade and entrepreneurship. You will enjoy a locally sourced meal prepared by the community and learn about their inspiring history. Upon returning to Nairobi, you have free time to shop for handicrafts or explore the city. In the evening, you might opt for a carnivorous feast at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, where game meats like ostrich and crocodile are roasted over open flames

Experience the hustle and bustle of East African capital cities. We fly to Entebbe and then travel to Kampala. You can relax and look forward to the second part of this epic journey.

Explore Kibale National Park by taking the scenic route to Fort Portal. The sounds of monkeys and birds fill the air as you spend the night on a guest farm.

In the morning or afternoon, we explore the evergreen rainforest and look for chimpanzees. Visit the Bigodi Community for a traditional lunch. During a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, you will have the opportunity to see more wildlife.

After passing the equator, we proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The afternoon will be spent on a wildlife safari drive. Watch out for warthogs, elephants, buffalo, five species of primates, and hippos while you are on safari. There are savannahs and swamps around Lake George in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the extensive Maramagambo Forest in the northeast, and the forest-covered Kyambura Gorge on the border with Kyambura Game Reserve.

Enjoy a wildlife safari drive in the early morning, followed by a lunch within the park. The Kazinga Channel can be explored on an evening cruise. The safari includes the opportunity to view buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, leopards, hyenas, giant forest hogs, and elephants.

Take advantage of the scenic drive south to view forests, volcanoes, and lakes. We spent the night on the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, accommodation is provided in simple tents and rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The convenience of a private vehicle allows you to enjoy the scenery from the comfort of your seat.

Get up early in order to experience the tour’s main highlight – a gorilla trek! Meet the park ranger or guide in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an orientation. Depending on where the gorilla family is located, the length and difficulty of the trek can vary. This is a truly unique opportunity to observe these beautiful and endangered creatures for one hour (maximum). We return to town in the afternoon, where you will have free time.

Once you have crossed the border into Rwanda, you should proceed to the capital city, Kigali. Discover more about this intriguing country’s dark history at the genocide museum. You are invited to enjoy lunch at the Nyamirambo Women’s Centre. Upon arrival at the hotel, the tour comes to an end.
